Product scope

Live product scope

These terms apply to the live product: single-user access, one bank account in the app, Starter and Tracker plans, and Premium features only when they are officially launched.

Authority

Use the product only if you can agree lawfully

You should only create an account if you are legally capable of entering into these terms and using the service for your own lawful personal finance administration.

Accounts and access

The live onboarding flow controls access.

Website copy, billing terms, and app access follow the same workflow.

Account creation

Create your account in the app

Account creation happens through the live app rather than through the marketing-site contact form.

Verification

Email verification is part of access control

You are responsible for keeping login details secure and for completing verification steps honestly and accurately.

Billing gate

Workspace access follows payment confirmation

Create account, verify email, complete PayFast checkout, and access the workspace after payment confirmation.

Plans and billing

Current plan names, limits, and usage rules matter.

  • Starter is currently R49/month excl. VAT with 1 user, 1 bank account, and 1 GB included storage.
  • Tracker is currently R119/month or R999/year with 1 user, 1 bank account for now, 3 GB storage, and 50,000 AI tokens per month.
  • Premium is roadmap-only until it is explicitly launched.
  • Starter does not include a bundled monthly AI allowance, but AI top-up bundles can be purchased separately.
  • Current AI top-up bundles are R40 for 50,000 tokens, R75 for 100,000 tokens, and R99 for 150,000 tokens.
  • Storage top-ups are recurring add-ons and remain subject to the live product limits shown in the app and checkout flow.

Plan details shown in the app checkout flow and current pricing page form part of the live commercial terms for that purchase. If the platform later changes plan scope, pricing, or add-ons, the then-current in-app pricing and billing terms will govern new purchases or renewals.

Renewals and changes

Recurring plans continue by billing cycle

Recurring subscriptions and recurring add-ons continue on the billing cycle selected at checkout unless cancelled or changed through the live billing flow or other written agreement.

Refunds

Checkout terms and law still apply

Any refund, cancellation, or billing dispute is governed by the live checkout terms, the relevant in-app billing flow, PayFast processing, and applicable South African law.

Use restrictions

Use the service lawfully and honestly.

These restrictions are part of the live product terms.

Security

Do not bypass access controls

Do not attempt to break authentication, payment controls, rate limits, token accounting, or storage controls.

Data integrity

Provide lawful financial records only

You are responsible for the legality, accuracy, and rights you hold in respect of the statements, receipts, and other files you upload.

Abuse

No unlawful or harmful use

Do not use the service for fraud, malicious uploads, unlawful surveillance, account sharing that bypasses plan limits, or any other prohibited purpose.

Important disclaimers

GrapeFinance helps with organisation and insight, not regulated advice.

  • GrapeFinance is not a SARS filing platform.
  • GrapeFinance does not provide personal financial advice, accounting advice, legal advice, or tax advice.
  • AI outputs, rules, categorizations, receipt parsing, and tax-readiness clues should be reviewed by the user.
  • You remain responsible for your own financial decisions, filings, and compliance obligations.
Availability

No promise of uninterrupted service

We aim to keep the service available and secure, but maintenance, third-party failures, internet issues, and security events can affect access from time to time.

Liability

Reasonable limits still apply

To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and liability is limited for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from ordinary use of the site or platform.
